Bitcoin and solidarity: technology in aid of the earthquake victims.
The tragic earthquake of August 26, 2016 that devastated the oldest inhabited villages in central Italy with a magnitude of 6.2 and caused nearly 300 deaths, did immediately put in action the machine of national and international relief efforts with the entry into the field of many forces to bring first aid and the restoration of the minimum conditions of life to the affected populations. While still digging to clear the rubble and save those who still are left buried, as well tent camps and reception services for the homeless are building, also seeks to make the count of the damage and determine the priorities for a return to normal life . A group of Italian bitcoiners in front of this situation, met to decide how to bring concrete help to the earthquake victims, believing that one of the key priorities for the reconstruction is precisely to intervene in the restoration of communications and technology so to speed up as much as possible the return to normality in those places tortured by the earthquake.

Bitcoin e solidarietà: la tecnologia in aiuto dei terremotati.
Il tragico sisma del 26 Agosto 2016 che ha devastato gli antichi borghi abitati in centro Italia con una magnitudo 6.2 e provocato quasi 300 vittime, ha fatto scattare immediatamente la macchina dei soccorsi nazionali ed internazionali con l’entrata in campo di molte forze per portare i primi aiuti ed il ripristino delle condizioni minime di vita alle popolazioni colpite. Mentre ancora si scava per sgombrare le macerie e salvare chi ancora ne è rimasto sepolto sotto, si allestiscono tendopoli e servizi di accoglienza per i senzatetto, si cerca anche di fare la conta dei danni e stabilire le priorità di intervento per un ritorno alla vita normale. Un gruppo di bitcoiners italiani di fronte a tale situazione, si è riunito per decidere in che modo portare un aiuto concreto alle popolazioni colpite dal sisma, ritenendo che una delle priorità essenziali per la ricostruzione sia appunto intervenire nel ripristino delle comunicazioni e della tecnologia in modo da velocizzare quanto più possibile il ritorno alla normalità in quelle località martoriate dal sisma.
Per fare ciò si è pensato di indire una raccolta di fondi internazionale in Bitcoin, moneta digitale che da la possibilità di effettuare donazioni in maniera pressochè anonima e che, per le sue molteplici caratteristiche, può rappresentare una forma veloce e trasparente di intervento, visto chei fondi depositati sono pubblicamente verificabili in ogni momento, senza intermediari o costi (cambiovalute, banche ecc.).
